Zodiac of the month - Aries Make up look

Aries is here and so the make up look of this month! I have been looking forward to this makeup look since a long long time because I love to do intensive dark looks. Aries symbolized power, energy and courage and I wanted to create a look that says, Yes its the month of Aries!

Aries are powerful , fearless, charismatic, energetic and dynamic and those are the words I tried to incorporate in my look. The sign is governed by fire and like all fire signs, Aries women are passionate. The colour of Aries is red and black and while they are deep and dark I chose for maroonish shade for the outfit. Aries women look forward to try challenges and novel ideas. Criticize her and get ready to defend yourself because an Arian isnt afraid to talk back. 

The Aries woman never needed liberating – she was always free as a bird and well able to run her own life. The highly competitive Aries woman succeeds wherever there is a goal to be reached, in sport and in business. Aries has the drive and the will to get ahead–and looks fabulous all the way.But when it comes to dressing up, few do it better. She looks fabulous in long lean gowns and punchy pieces of bling that stand out.

Aries and Fashion
Though Aries are practical and simple in dressing, they are also the first ones to spot new trends and to wait there to get the new styled dress that everyone is looking for. The Aries would definately have it and is the fearless, feisty trendsetter among friends.

For a daily wear, Aries prefer to wear simple top and jeans, not very high heels and be simple but wait they do add in a pop of bold colours or some attractive accessories to the look. Like a pair of red footwear or a blingy bag.

Aries are also very athletic and therefore love to show their curves and long legs with sleek fitted long dresses. Something that I chose. They dont go much for prints and prefer a solid simple dress even for a night out because adding their own touch of bold and fearless accessories is what they look forward to. I chose a unique neck piece from Splash that I added here.

It is the Aries women who are always ready to try out a bold lipstick and make it look like it was made just for her! The Aries are women dont like to fuss much about the look. They keep their makeup easy to do but not easy to keep your eyes of. Therefore I opted for a eye makeup not so difficult consisting of only a dual shade giving boldness to the eyes. Not something different , Just enough to capture attention. I also went for shades that are again simple but a little different. While the black takes care of being powerful, the purple adds boldness and passion. Not to forget the anglular look to give a little newness and courageousness.

For the eye makeup, Start with the light purple towards the corner of eye (the nose side) and then blend in darker purple in the middle and end it with a black. I used a scotch tape to create the angular look and used the NYX pencil and maybelline kajal beneath the eye.

Heel hacks!

Who doesnt want to wear heels. Its a pair of beauties that add such glamour to the look but on the other hand the pain! Yes. It does pain no doubt but thats only when you wear them the wrong way.
I have heels of all types and though my least preferred are closed ones I liked one recently from forever 21 and decided to give it a try using some heel hacks to see if it works or not.
After wearing them for about 5 hours, I came to a conclusion that using these 2 hacks can save you from the pain.
The first tip is use a scotch tape. Now this tape is not the usual transparent tape. Its a white colour translucent tape that works good with the skin. There is no harm in the normal one but this one just feels more comfortable.

PS- This tape is also safe to use on the eyelids to create a perfectly aligned eyeliner.
So use this tape and wrap your last two toe fingers together. This helps the last little toe finger to not get all the pressure. Binding them together also prevents you to get injuries on the toe fingers. It feels so much comfortable trust me!
The second hack is something I read over various posts regarding celebrities wearing heels and how they manage. The secret behind is the fact that they opt a size bigger and use insoles to keep them in place. By taking a size bigger, the foot gets space to move around especially because the foot gets broad on the front and it needs more space while walking and by having a bigger size they are able to breathe and not feel restrained. But since a bigger size means your foot having the chance to come out, a silicon insoles help to keep them in place without being seen. You can buy a pair of insoles from the link below.
An additional tip - If you are going to wear them for a real long time, try taking out the heels after every 40-50 mins and circling them clockwise and anti clockwise and moving them up and down for 2-4 minutes.

Revlon Ultra HD matte lipcolor in metallic shade review

I will be reviewing the Revlon ultra HD matte lipcolor in the new metallic shades. I have a thing for all the different shades available and the new shades have tempted me to have one.
There are shades in blue , grey and nude metallics available and I went for the greyish tone. Maybelline and L'oreal still have blue shades but the grey is something I saw for the first time. Secondly it is more wearable than the blue shades and goes very well with diamond and silver look as its more of a silver colour.
The shade I am wearing is HD Luster.

I like the packaging of the product it is a flat tube sort of lipstick. It consists of a liquid lipcolor and has a vanilla flavouring. The lipstick is 5.9 ml and the price is Rs 1250/- but is available on Amazon.in for Rs 510/- and some shades are for Rs 950/- and Rs 850/-
The cost of product is on the higher end and to be honest I dont feel it is value for money but then if one wishes for a shade that is different then it deserves a place in your make up as a priced possession. On the other hand, Amazon is offering a huge discount on this product therefore if you have been looking out for this product then it is the right time to grab it! And for Rs 510/- it is a real deal...

The lipstick says that is has a 100% wax free gel formula. The feel of lipstick is really nice and doesnt dry up but then it does not make it totally matte and can be wiped away. It is opaque and needs only 2 swipes to give the metallic look.
I will give it a rating of 6.5/10 for the lipstick but a 9/10 for the novelty factor.

Innisfree nose strips and balm for blackheads

Black heads is a problem experienced when there is oil concentration on the nose area. A problem that is faced by many Indians and for years I have been unable to find a solution until I came accross this Korean brand Innisfree. They have these 2 best products in terms of blackhead removal consisting of jeju volcanic ash which is proven to remove black aheads and oil from the face.

The second product that I am going to review is 

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Blackhead Out Balm

It is quite a innovative product that I havent seen any company making and the inquisitiveness made me purchase this one. It is a balm (Ya like the painrelief balms) which is odourless. One has to take a little amount and keep rubbing and massaging on blackhead concentrated areas.

I use this every alternate day and it is safe to use everyday if one has a lot of blackheads. It consists of jeju volcanic ash and the balm is perfect for even oily skin.

It says by massaging the balm for 3-5 mins, the blackheads melt off, and I agree. When use it especially if blackheads concentration is high you see small blackish stuff on your fingers. After massaging, just use a face wash with warm water and you are done.

It has a 4.2 rating on nykaa.com and I will give it a rating of 7/10

The reason for it is that its not a overnight result yeilding product. It takes time to work and is very mild. At times it feels as if nothing has happened but it is a product that is good for prevention of blackheads and something that you can use regularly for the problem.

Beauty product review - Activated charcoal powder

Today ill be reviewing about one of my secret beauty product. It may look weird and unusual but the results make the skin look clear, bright and pimple free.
I will be reviewing the charcoal powder and will be also giving you some ideas and ways to use it.
There are charcoal powders available of many companies. They also come as ready made face pack or wash but i prefer the pure powder form so that one can make their pack according to the need.While buying charcoal powder make sure you go for activated charcoal powder.
Let me also clearify, charcoal powder is different from mud, multani mitti, clay powder etc. This is pure black in colour.
Dont get afraid of the thought of applying black powder on your skin, it washes away completely taking away the dirt and oil. Infact people also use it for their teeth and some also consume it.
A charcoal powder mask shouldnt be used everyday as it might take away the essential moisture of your skin, it is best to use it 2-3 times a week maximum. I personally use this once a week and other time I put a mask from various companies.
Charcoal powder is best suitable for oily skin, skin that is prone to acne, blackhead and blemish but it can also be put in other face packs to clear the skin.

Aloe vera juice, Crushed neem, A pinch of haldi (tumeric) and charcoal powder. Make it in the form of a paste and apply using brush over face and neck avoiding the eyes and lips.
Leave it for 15-20 mins and wash using luke warm water.

Other ways to try
For dry skin,
Olive oil, coconut oil, charcoal powder into a thick paste and wash with luke warm water after 15-20 mins

Make your own mask
Use ingredients that you have/like and make your own version
For oily skin
Yoghurt, amla juice, cucumber paste, multani mitti, rose water
For dry skin
Honey, mashed banana, vitamin e, coconut milk
For acne, pimples, blackhead etc
Neem-tulsi paste, aloevera gel, rose water, rice water, black tea or coffee (no sugar room temprature), oatmeal, lemon juice
