Lipstick day and the evolution of lipstick

We all have a history with  lipsticks. As a child playing with those mini plastic lipsticks and always trying to get our moms to allow us to wear some on our lips. Graduating to lip balms and light shades, today owning all possible colours signify the trends, our moods and define who we are.
Its lipstick day girls and boys, a day to cherish a product so apt, like it's adding colours to our lives.
Lipsticks were not always ready in a bottle, in fact was not even close to what we consider it now.
Lipsticks could be simply finding ways to add colour on the lips which could be using berries and bugs, looking for colourful stones to be crushed, using henna, flowers and much more.
The first use of lipstick was by Sumerian men and women about 5000 years ago. They crushed gemstones and used them on the lips and eyes.
Egyptians used crushed bugs and carmine dye that got them purple, red and black shades. Indus valley civilization used pieces of ochre and henna, Chinese and Japanese used beeswax and tar. Some harmful substances like lead, bromine iodine were also used that led to diseases and even death.

Cleopatra was an ardent lover of applying colour on her lips and this led to many women following her. This ritual became a status symbol and only higher class would wear a lipstick. But later red lips was associated with being witches and prostitutes. It was only after Queen Elizabeth  started wearing red lips that this was associated to being noble, royal and rich.
And then came Abulcasis, the scientist who created a the first solid lipstick followed by Gurlain that became the first company to launch a commercially available lipstick which was made of beeswax, castor oil and wrapped in silk paper.
Later on companies ventured into altering textures and creating new shades. Chanel, Estee lauder and Elizabeth Arden that came up with a whole new market of lipsticks.
The style of wearing lipstick have changed too and are different for various cultures.
Asians like Indians go for darker tones and Chinese  and Japanese often known for Cupids bow and Koreans for their gradient lips.
Trends have changed too, there was the classic red lipstick in the chanel era and then the black significant punk, goth and rebel. Today we have colour changing lipsticks, glitter lipsticks and so many textures like matte, cream , peel off and more.
Lets take a moment to appreciate the journey of the lipstick, a product that has changed so much and altered just to be right enough for us to own a few. It's something I am so close that I surely can't step out of my home without one!

Here is also 5 must have lipsticks which I love at the moment.
1. @nyxcosmetics_in lip vinyl in femme fatale. A glossy vinyl black lipstick to bring the goth side in you.

2. @nyxcosmetics_in slip tease lip oil in red queen rouge royal. A pigmented oiled lipstick that doesn't fade away and doesn't dry your lips.

3. @urbandecaycosmetics vice special effects in reverb. A glittery lipstick with purple shiny bits. Add it on any lipstick and experience the glitter.

4. @myglamm 2in1 matte lipstick and liner in siren. A subtle maroon apt for daily wear.

5. @kikomilano into the dark metallic lip colour in 01. Bronze metallic lips!

6. @makeuprevolutionindia lipstick in fortify. A young bright light orange.

Know your products - Organic

We have an obsession don't we, with the word organic for every possible things around us. No wonder we are coming across organic in every thing, food items, dishes, beauty and so on.
And it's always so fancy to buy and encourage people to go for organic things. I too often use the word organic and promote them.
Lets find out what it really means.
Organic has 2 meanings.
1. It is related to be derived from living matter
For e.g. Organic soil

2. A method which has no use of chemicals , artificial materials, fertilisers and pesticides.

In both ways, it is something one should opt for since it does good to us.
So when we say something is organic, it doesn't mean it is the best or has any new additives and benefits but rather is just better than the usual inorganic substances.

There is a difference between natural and organic. Natural is anything produced by nature which may have artificial substances to aid its growth whereas organic doesn't.
So its better to opt for organic rather than natural.

Organic beauty products are basically the ingredients that have grown without using anything artificial and thus they are more beneficial for us since they are high on quality.

Some of the popular brands with organic ingredients are
Body shop, Himalaya , forest essentials , lotus herbals, khadi naturals, kama ayurveda, etc

Caviar mask

I am going to share a few of my favourite sheet masks that I enjoy using. Korean or K-Beauty have revolutionised the concept of face masks and now that there is a problem of plenty, we must carefully chose them.
...
The first and most important task is to chose the right ingredient. There are exquisite ones available which I can share but one should make sure they go well with the skin type and skin concern.
...
The first one I am sharing is cavier mask by @tonymolyindia
Caviar or fish eggs are a delicacy which are rich in vitamin B, amino acids, protein and zinc.
All of these are also good for the skin as well.
...
Caviar does have a history of skin care. It is known to have amino acids that act as building blocks for skin cells to function well. Since the old times, it bas brrn considered a good anti aging ingredient and let me also tell you, Melania Trump uses it too!
...
Caviar also firms and lifts and minimises pores. It also has anti oxidant properties that help to prevent collagen and elastin breakdown.
...
The mask is available on nykaa for Rs 100/- and there are often offers of buy 5 get 5 free where you can stock them.

A Wardrobe Chimera - Women's Day Special!

An irony if I must say, fashion has been developed & made & altered all for woman but done by the great deeds of a man.
The government we say is for the by people, by the people, of the people but fashion in the early centuries were for women but not by women.
And then came the women like wind, ruling the fashion arena, contributing in ways that even today women like us are motivated to be fashionable each day.
A Chimera, a dream, a fantasy I call, to have a wardrobe & cosmetics all made by the iconic women who pioneered in the 19th and 20th century in 'avant garde' fashion bringing looks that no one could ever thought of & in those times I repeat.

(Here below are the women who have contributed in the history of fashion and their iconic outfits/products that are elucidated in the form of a bucket list that I crave to be in my wardrobe)

My chimera or a fantasy of women oriented wardrobe would begin with a office outfit with poise and grace like Gabrielle Bonheur 'Coco' Chanel who neutralized gender by bringing blazers and pants for women. An ensemble studded with pearls, fancy hats and embellishments! And don't forget to thank her for the creation of the 'little black dress'

A feminine wrap dress, one of first made by 'Elsa Schiaparelli' in 1930s, a free size dress bringing the concept of dresses that fit everyone & incorporating it for a beach look that I would team with a swimsuit by ' Norma Kamali' and when I say beach, I mean super short clothes & that makes me want the creater of the mini skirt & hot pants , the cool 'Mary Quant' designed bright short bottomwear.

Oh! I shouldnt forget to exercise but in sports wear by 'Claire McCardell'

A classy crisp white button and taffeta skirt look, which is so in even today; I wish for a pair of them by 'Caroline Herrera'.

Everyday tops & dresses by 'Donna Karan'.
And when I need to go out for evenings I want the Greek styled gowns by 'Madeleine Vionnet' with a teardrop necklace matched by 'Elsa Peretti'.

And my wedding! Of course I want a wedding dress too! A bridal gown by 'Vera Wang' and an cocktail gown by 'Stella McCartney'.

For my honeymoon, Lingerie & fur by 'Jeanne Lanvin' & a titanic inspired dress (The titanic surviver and designer for the movie Titanic) by 'Lucy Lady Duff - Gordon' for when I travel on a cruise.

Now for accessories, miu miu heels by 'Miuccia Prada' & platform shoes by 'Vivienne Westwood'.
Perfumes by 'Elizabeth Arden' & 'Jo Malone.'

Now to the cosmetics, ' Estee Lauder ' to begin with along with body care by ' Anita Roddick' . perfect foundation to match my tone by 'Fenty' or the 20th century famous 'Iman'.
'Bobby brown' for her natural look and 'KatvonD' to bring out the darker side in me, 'Laura Mercer' to accentuate me with the best of her makeup or a look at the menu card of cosmetics by 'Charlotte Tilbury'.
And for when I need to get my hair done, a visit to ' Martha Matilda Harper's ' salon.

And not to forget , the modernization of beauty industry with online beauty shopping by ' Emily Weiss' and the young women of today who have bought modern cosmetics like the matte lip cream and advanced contouring, credits to 'Kylie Jenner' and 'Huda Kattan'.

Well you see women not only look good in fashion , but they also own fashion in every way. I am sure I have missed out many women because the contributions are countless. I haven't even started with fashion icons like Marylin Monroe and Audrey Hepburn and the models of course who bring fashion to the ramp so effortlessly- Naomi Campbell, Giselle Bundchen, Linda Evangelista and more...

And this, my girls is the chimera , a desire of not me but every woman who is proud of the fashion that these women have bought to us.
So be proud women, because truly fashion now is of us, by us and for us!

Happy Women's Day
Naomi

A tribute to Karl Lagerfeld

My favourite fashion designer and icon, the man behind the most successful fashion shows and the icon to handle the brand - Chanel! Karl Otto Lagerfeld was a German designer, creative director, artist, photographer and caricaturist who lived in the fashion capital, Paris. He worked until his very last day, passing away at the age of 85, last month. Known to handle brands like Chanel, Fendi and his very own Karl Lagerfeld.
He is known as the monochrome man, the man with his iconic ponytail and his signature look of white hair, black sunglasses and fingerless gloves.

About Karl Lagerfeld
Wanting to be a caricaturist, Karl entered a coat designing competition somehow and won the competition gaining entry to work with Pierre Balmain. After working for brands like Chloe and Valentino, he started working for Fendi until his death.
In the 1980s he was hired by Chanel, which was then not a successful brand since Coco Chanel had just passed away, but Karl bought back the essence of Chanel - The monochrome looks, pearls, tweed jackets, little black dresses, gloves and classy headgear.
Lagerfeld also collaborated and worked with brands like Diesel, H&M , Macys etc.
He also directed a few short movies, ventured into photography, designed fashion shows that were so unique and attractive and also designed art sculptures , mirrors, consoles etc

Unique facts about Karl Lagerfeld

●He started working at the age of 17 and worked until the very end of his life.

●He hated cell phones and technology and rather preceded faxes and letters.

●He carried a fan wherever he went.

●His personal library consisted of 300000 books all rotated so that he didn't have to tilt his head to read the titles.

●He owned 300 iPods, all designed for different genre of music. All of these were stored in a specially designed limited edition Louis Vuitton trunk.

●He owned a fridge in his bathroom to keep his skincare products.

●He didn't smoke or drink but was addicted to diet coke

●The iconic pony has been with him since 1976

●He was very close to his cat, who has an Instagram page, 2 maids and said once if it was legal he would have married her.

Karl Lagerfeld and his fashion shows
Karl created fashion shows like movie sets, so advanced and designed so minutely that it would feel like you are in the moment so much, making it an illusion, a dream, Karl believed in grandeur and imagination.
From designing a whole winter wonderland, adding effects of snow covered areas instead of a standard ordinary ramp, adding winds and mountains, yes it was all possible by the man.
Some of his shows include creating a beach, fountains and gardens , and much more.
Last week, the final show designed by Karl was presented post his death and it was based on the winter collection. The models were in tears bidding farewell to the man who bought so much imagination and thought into a fashion show.

This is my version of a Classic Chanel inspired outfit as a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld.
Using the important and the famous elements of the house of Chanel, I integrated the look like Coco Chanel or Audrey Hepburn would have worn.
The little black dress or LBD is a concept that was developed by Coco chanel which was further taken up by Karl Lagerfeld. Adding to the look are the gloves that Karl himself wore. Chanel is also a fan of embellishments and bows that add to the vintage look.
Not to forget, the elegant hair bows and hats that call for what Chanel is about. It would have been a sin if I would have missed out on that.
The little black dress goes well with classy black pumps accentuated with embellishments.

Monochrome looks are synonymous to Karl Lagerfeld. He was always dressed in black and white and that is what is my inspiration to this look. I wanted to create a whole breakfast at tiffanys look, an Audrey Hepburn in Chanel kind of illusion.
Karl often added many pearls his look. It is what added to the elegance and charm. I was myself thrilled to be surrounded in so many layers of pearls.
Vintage backgrounds, old style chandeliers and black and white looks were all a part of looks created by the man.

This is a look inspired from the Fendi fall 2019 collection that showcased black frilled skirts and dressed along with bows. I created it with a vision of what Karl's traditional look would be thus adding white to it.
Karl was about sleek dresses as well grand frills and layers as he frequently dressed celebrities for award functions, often sticking to his monochrome tones and old style vintage looks with contemporary twists.
Also a tribute to his last collection, that showcased winter and spring looks that can be worn in the cold weather yet add a fashionable style.

Fendi
Fendi is an Italian luxury fashion brand that Karl joined in 1965 and became the creative director for fur and women's ready to wear.
The brand is 93 years old and is known for its eyewear , fragrances , leather goods and fur, shoes , bags and accessories.
The well known baguette and pequin handbags is what Fendi is popularly known for.
The final work of Karl was shown by Fendi at Milan fashion week a few days back.
The show showcased Eskimo designs, medieval armor and kimono inspired winter looks.

Chanel
Chanel is a French brand that specialises in haute couture, fashion accessories and ready to wear clothes. The name is taken by Gabrielle Chanel who used her nickname Coco along. Karl was the man behind promoting the CC logo short for coco chanel.
110 year old brand chanel went through a downfall when in 1983, Karl took over as the chief designer. He incorporated the traditional tweed and fold accents in the looks.

Karl Lagerfeld
Karl Lagerfeld started his own brand in 1984. His brand with his own name and his iconic look as a logo is known mostly for designer handbags, shows and more.
He also has a fragrance by the same name and logo.
His collection has a modern and contemporary edge to classic black and solid colour designs. Adding his own monochrome looks and texts, his cat images , optical illusions look like striped looks and spikes and embellishments is what his collection is about.

Embryolisse cream review

@embryolisse is a French brand that is here in India in collaboration with @bdesirpro.
Embryolisse is a multi function nourishing moisturiser that also acts like a make up primer and moisturizing mask.
🌼🌼🌼
It is meant for all skin types, it promises a supple and plumped, soft and radiating complexion.
It can be used in morning / night , as a makeup base and as a moisturiser.
🌼🌼🌼
It consists of emollient oil , shea butter , beeswax, aloe vera and soy protein.
The price is Rs 1250/- for 30gms
🌼🌼🌼
I love the fragrance of the moisturiser, it is mild yet captivating. Also what I like about the product is that it is water based and thus super light in texture, melting away easily on the skin without taking much effort. The absorption is great and thus it doesn't feel like that there is a major product applied. The cream is light weighted white and simple.
🌼🌼🌼

Ryaal Shampoo and oil review

I have been reading lately that onion does wonders for the hair. In fact , it is one of the ancient Indian remedies to improve the quality of hair. All you need is to apply onion juice before washing you hair.
I often wondered if this is true then why isn't that companies use onion to make oils and shampoos. Is it because of the smell or the processing , and just recently I got an opportunity to try out the hair care range with onions by @ryaalusa
The fusion intense clarity shampoo is infused with rich organic onion extract and herbal extracts of Amla, bhringraj, methi, Brahmi, nagarmotha, ginger and hibiscus
As much as I thought that it would smell of onions , on the contrary , hibiscus makes it smell fruity and flowery and the wine- purple colour makes it look appealing
It also consists oils like basil, neem, and vitamin E
The onion proved to stop infections and dandruff as onion has anti bacterial properties. The other ingredients help in hair growth and minimise breakage.
What I also liked about the product is the packaging. It has a convenient way to get the shampoo in hands and is just the right in terms of size. Especially with the long hair that I have, small trial bottles seem to less and big bottles are too difficult to handle.
The shampoo bottle is priced Rs 500 for 200 ml and is available on the ryaal website as well as Amazon.

Onion oil is the product that I will be talking about. Called as hair food by Ryaal, consists of onion, sandalwood oil and rose oil , coconut oil, sunflower oil, castor oil, argan oil , jajoba oil, hibiscus , Shea butter, mango butter etc
It is known to treat hair fall, dandruff and accelerate hair growth
Known to take away your hair worries, the product says it is like a balance diet for your hair and scalp.
With no parabens, artificial ingredients and made completely with organic herbs and oils, Ryaal has revolutionised hair products. With the combination of hair oil and shampoo together , I am sure results will be seen in no time.
The 200 ml product is priced Rs 600/- and is available on the ryaal website as well as Amazon.

@ryaalusa is a US based brand , with its base in Delhi focuses on bringing the tradition of using organic products to modern users. Known mostly for their essential oils and organic products , ryaal has bought in age old recipes into finished products.
All the products are 100% organic and made with premium raw ingredients like hibiscus , amla, bhringraj etc.
You can also get a discount on Amazon and nykaa, a minimum of 10% available. The products are available on the ryaal website as well nykaa and Amazon.

The Indian chai healthy herbal tea review

I am here with a review of an Indian brand. Well it would have been known by now that I revel in varieties of teas and what I am about to discuss are herbal tea or simply put, teas with a healthy twist!
☘☘☘
Teas by @theindianchai are bespoke for concerns like slimming , skin and heart. Each of the well packed tea has ingredients that are specifically meant for the concern and of course are totally natural. I will be talking about three of them in detail.
☘☘☘
The first one is the slimming healthy green tea.
It has blends of therapeutic spices and herbs that help to balance and regulate excess fat in body.
The ingredients include garcinia combogia, turmeric root, lemongrass, lemon peel , morninga leaves to name a few along with Darjeeling green tea.
☘☘☘
Clear skin tea is the second that consists of natural blends that help purify skin and blood, reduce inflammation and clears toxins.
It consists of rose petals, calendula, rosemary, lavender , sage , chamomile , aloe Vera and neem to name a few.
☘☘☘
Third is Arjun tea for heart care. A beverage created specially for improving the heart. With problems like irregular heart rate, sweating and palpitations, this tea can help solve such issues.
Consisting mainly of arjun bark which is the most effective ingredient for heart care that provides strength to the heart. It also has ashwagandha, brahmi, shankpushpi, pipal twak and much more.
☘☘☘
The best part about these teas are that they have real good big sized herbs that are good in quality and you can taste the rich and intense taste.
Secondly, all the ingredients used are natural and scientifically proven to help in the respective concerns.
The price of 50 gms  is Rs 295/- and one only needs a very little amount in hot water. It can also be reused by just adding more hot water.

Its time to turn yourself around

A blogger's life as you may have judged by now is about experiencing new brands, products and events. While most of us deal with fashion, food and lifestyle ; it feels so refreshing to get something out of the box and worth sharing with fellow readers. And this is one mystical experience that I had a few days back.
After a bad traffic and a long drive , I reached where I was destined for the evening. I always do a little homework before going to an event, of course I have to I am called the 'Prudent Diva'. And I really was excited for this one because I have seen something like this in Dubai and in a few videos. I hope i learn it too was what I desired.
So, where I headed was a whirling class. A sacred dance form that involves mediation and healing through the art of whirling around.
Whirling literally means a rapid movement round and round and this dance form is a way to connect to the divine using the power of circling around.
Whirling has been used as a source of healing, getting energy and balancing our chakras since ancient times. If you notice, almost all old style dances have steps where in one goes around several times. Whether it is kathak, ghumar, garba or western forms like salsa, each of them has whirling that go down much deeper to the fact that they are known to balance ourselves.
The thriive is a whirling community , recently paving way into Mumbai or rather India to bring this new form. The focus here is not only to make people go round but also to explore within. Meditation or simply to sit peacefully and extend ourselves for healing is what one can try out.
I was given the opportunity to try the first demo class that taught the basics and history of whirling.
Coming from a psychology background, dance therapy is one thing I believe can do wonders especially for those who believe in the power of music and dance. And this is one therapy that is so enjoyable. I'm so contented with this existential experience so pure, extraordinary and rejuvenating. And the world of whirling left me spellbound and extramundane.
I will not want to share all intricacies of the event because you have to experience it yourself to understand it. The session was help by the wonderful @realmsofdance (Zia Nath) who effortlessly whirled with joy and passion. Here is a little glimpse of what @thriiveindia offered in this session was,

An insight into what whirling is. It is more than dance and meditation. It balances the body physically and mentally. While the circling around is like a workout, it internally heals and activates the chakras.
The initial process of whirling is taught by using a hand. The hand here symbolises a mirror where you look right into it and focus on yourself within. It is like looking into yourself. Nothing around should bother the individual. One does it clockwise that is turning on the right.
Whirling can be done on any soothing music. Zia , taught us on beautiful poems, quotes and songs by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, meera bai and verses from the Guru Granth.
The session had a meditation session and a healing session where one just had to feel positive and watch whirling.
@realmsofdance (Zia) also had a whirling act blindfolded which was done so gracefully and got people to a level beyond explanation.
The session ended with a chakra or circle formation, which is a way of connecting people and establishing communication.
Thriive also has many different workshops related to art, mediation and healing. One of which is related to canvas painting that is coming soon. Check out their page to know more.
Until then, turn your self around, go round , circle , whirl and experience positivity!

The shade is a mix of vintage pink and peach with fine golden shimmer in in it. It doesn't make the lips dry. The only thing is that it takes a little longer to dry so you might need a little patience out there.
...

YLG Mumbai product launch and review

YLG Salon and @ylgproduct organised an event a while back at the Esora . The event was a launch for their range of products in Mumbai and an announcement that their salons are coming soon in Mumbai.
...
But what was more interesting is that they held an enlightening talk on the skin issues that women face. The skin types, concerns and how to use products the right way.
...
Some simple yet unknown facts were also disclosed. Like - 1spf = 15 minutes of protection from the sun. So it doesn't matter if you have a spf 15 or 50, it is about the time that you have to estimate when you are out in the sun.
...
The session was followed by a one to one skin analysis using computerised method that gave an insight as to how healthy the skin is. Some factors like sensitivity , wrinkles , melanin count etc were shown and explained.
...
Ylg if you wonder stands for 'you look great!' And they definitely stand by their name. The brand has one of the best waxing solutions for women including products like an after wax cream to help soothe the skin and an in growth serum that helps to prevent in growth.
...
The event ended with wonderful high tea refreshments and a goodie full of ylg products.

It's time for the ylg product reviews!
So let me start with the fact that all these products have a great finish and the fragrance is not too strong , infact they are so pleasant that I wish to use them for the fragrance itself. Secondly, for all the products, you just need a pea size or less for a single use and it suffices.
🌸🌸🌸
The first product is (left to right) the moisturizing argan oil anti aging moisturiser. This is the 2nd step of a perfect skin care routine. The cream helps to regenerate the skin providing elasticity and hydration. It can be used twice a day.
🌸🌸🌸
Depigmentation serum is the third step of skin routine which is what is the treatment step. It contains chromabright which acts on the epidermis gradually inhibiting melanin synthesis. Melanin is responsible for dark spots and blemishes. It is to be used after cleansing skin and particularly to be applied on blemishes.
🌸🌸🌸
Cleansing milk with almond oil is the first step of a skin routine. It hydrates the skin and cleans residual makeup and dirt. It is to be applied on skin by massaging with fingers and then to be taken off with a cotton ball.
🌸🌸🌸
BB cream is the next product, it is the last step and known as the enhancing step. The cream contains spf 15. Now talking about spf, do see my other post on ylg product launch event. The cream gives an even tone, hydration and nutrition to the skin.
🌸🌸🌸
Ylg also added a shade of their nail polish which I am loving at the moment and I will add a pic of it too. And there were some little cute momentos like a pair of earrings, stickers and a thank you note.
🌸🌸🌸
Most of these products range from Rs 500 to Rs 700. And if you buy them now you will get an additional 20% discount. Use the code 'YLG10ON10' to avail them.

Flaunt Blanc

Flaunt Blanc

Each day in our childhood, our mother's reminded us to take care of 'the white shirt' - the pride of our school ensemble, & even if we ever forgot that then 'tide' , 'surf' & 'nirma' were right there to remind us how important it is to keep our shirts white , sparkly & immaculate. It is an idée fixe & a competition rather to see 'who is the whitest of them all', so much that probably effects were made in the first place to whiten up the whites in ads.

You see, wearing white is wearing more than an outfit. It symbolises confidence. Confidence that nothing will spoil your day. Confidence that nothing will go wrong.
Even the slightest mark on a white can spoil a day, but when you wear white, you are ready & willing to take the risk. Who doesn't love white & tidy after all? Wearing white can basically be a way to prepare & boost yourself & scream through your outfit that you are scintillating & nothing can stop it.

Maybe that's why formals are best worn white. Wearing white is associated with goodness, innocence & purity. Thus the reason for brides, chefd, doctors, scientists & politicians donning them for they need to send that message.

But be careful women! White doesn't always mean it's all happy & charming. Especially when it is so difficult to abstain from the dirt. But dirt can be white too.
In a world filled with dirt, it is hard to face it & yet come out clean ,untainted & insullied.A world where where not everything 'white' is pure. It is hard to believe so because we humans are obsessed to the idea of white. But the fact is that even the doctor's white coat can be fake after all. The cocaine at a party, the sugar in our diet & the preference of white unpigmented skin tone. Our preference of white knows no bounds.

While our preference for white can go deeper & larger & can make you look pretty & bright, don't let the fake white dirt fool you. White represents being clean, transparent , inducing trust, faith and conviction. It also stands for being able to handle yourself & the outfit & that you can slay it effortlessly.

So go out girls, wear your pristine whites, look confident & fulgent your way in the crowd but stay prudent about the falsities of whites.

Miniso range of handbags

We have heard the saying that 'Diamonds are a girl's best friend' but I rather believe in the saying 'Handbags are a girl's best friend' , because we kind of live in them. Everything near , dear and needy are all stuffed into this necessity. I personally don't like spending a lot on daily wear handbags because they get dirty often. I also don't like too big handbags because on a daily basis we don't need many things.

All of my requirements meet the range of quirky handbags @minisoindia offers. Miniso is the latest trend! It's what our country loves at the moment. Miniso is a Japanese based company offering high quality fashion wear, makeup, home decor, stationary and much more.

These bags are each priced less than Rs 1000/- and some as low as Rs 300/- when on sale.

ONE BRAND - FOUR BAGS
ONE DRESS - FOUR OUTFITS

Peppy Pink
🌸🌸🌸
@minisoindia handbag in this pink structured design is my kind of bag for the season. With spring setting is, this bag is not too pink or girly.
🌸🌸🌸
A bag like this is just right to have in daily essentials while travelling. It can be held by hand as well as is a sling bag. The price of this bag was somewhere around Rs 600.

 Wondrous White
🌼🌼🌼
I love the combination of white and Denims! This little white handbag by @minisoindia is small which is just what you need when you want to have just a wallet and Mobile. The best part about it is that it has a zip. Usually small bags don't have proper enclosures that make me restless and scared that my things might drop but this has a zip.
🌼🌼🌼
This was in sale when I bought and costed me somewhere around Rs 350/- only. I think it's a must a buy for it meets all criteria - colour that's goes with all outfits , cost friendly and zip enclosed.

Basic Black
♣️♣️♣️
@minisoindia black bag is simple, basic and every girl's requirement. I treat this bag as my very regular and most used item in my lifestyle. It's like one would find some money always in it and you just  have to take it along with you.
♣️♣️♣️
Again this was bought in sale and was around Rs 320/- or so. I pair it up with anything and everything. It has a zip so all my stuff stays safe. The handle is comfortable so fits in my arm easily. It's light weight and just so easy to carry.

Goofy grey
〰️〰️〰️
This one is my personal favourite in the collection of @minisoindia bags that I have. It's a little different, sophisticated and formal. It has 2 open slots and one zip slot. It is bigger then the rest and therefore I can accommodate much more stuff.
〰️〰️〰️
This was something around Rs 600 and I love to wear it with any outfit and accompany it with same grey coloured footwear. It is a bright grey therefore doesn't look very dull. Goes great with denim wear too.

Godrej event on farmernomics

I love how @godrej_group comes up with such amazing initiatives to raise awareness among people especially of today's generation. This event was dedicated to the future of agriculture, talking about #farmernomics . Experts from the food and agriculture industry spoke about issues in agriculture and food habits in lay man's language and gave an insight to how Indian agriculture is performing.

One of the main focus of the event was to talk about 'millets' and the consumption of especially local produce to inculcate a healthy lifestyle. And I think we should all inculcate millets as not only is it healthy but also an easier way of cultivating, budget friendly and tasty. Rather than going for quinnoa or other foreign versions , our very own ragi, rajgira , jowar are better alternatives to include in our diet.
Let us also understand what millets exactly are.

Millets are a group of highly variable small-seeded grasses, widely grown around the world as cereal crops or grains for fodder and human food.

Now it's proven that millets are high on calcium and protein therefore is a better alternative than rice and wheat. It is also easier to grow since it needs less water. The only con here is that it requires more time therefore more gas to cook.

Godrej has taken up the initiative of cultivating these products as well as empowering women to do the same. It was amazing to see some of them coming from various parts of India and talking about how they have learnt and become independent.

There was a talk by some influential people who gave an insight as well as tips on how a common middle class man can bring a better lifestyle in their lives.
There was chef Harpal Singh Sokhi who gave us ideas on how to make millet more tasty and easier to cook. Especially for children. Some ideas he gave are ragi halwa that is best for those who have a sweet tooth. There was Dr Yasmin Ali Haque and Kurush Dalal who gave an insight into the problem of malnutrition and how much we need millets to sustain.

The event was followed by a millet inspired lunch and a token by godrej consisting of various millets and a cookbook to try out some amazing recipes.
The food had a Tamilian touch to it. There was jackfruit ragi biryani , millet rice , jowar halwa, millet payasam , ragi dosa and all other vegetables and chicken made with millet.
And I must not forget to compliment the godrej one location, especially the godrej wall where every product by godrej was up for display.
