Valentines day makeup

Wishing all my readers a very Happy Valentines Day!
So I did a little valentines day inspired make up look today, but more than just doing a beauty look, I want these images to portray self-love for valentines. For all the lovely women out there, dont stay home waiting for your partner to make your day special, I understand it makes us all feel pampered and special, but get up and dress up, cause there is nothing more important than loving yourselves. Make each day valentines by gifting yourself confidence. say to yourself that you are beautiful every moment. Gift yourself the power of believing in yourself. You can do anything you desire to and lastly gift yourself a feeling to love yourself. Pamper yourself - Love makeup? get yourself a new product. Its not about if its expensive, its about making yourself feel worthy.
And I want this to apply for all my male readers too... Go and pamper yourself boys!
We all love some attention , love and support, but if you wont love yourself, how will you get all that?

Coming back to my make up look, I experimented a little today. Usually red on the eyes is not my thing (but hey I got to believe in myself right!) so I tried these little heart addition too... I know its a little crazy

For my eyes
Nicka K eyeshadow pallete (Glitter)
Faces glitter in pink
Red liquid lipstick for the heart
Maybelline eye liner, kajal and mascara
I made the heart using a minute brush and painted it in the shape and then gave a outline with black eyeliner.

For my lips
Avon cherry red
Faces glitter in pink

For the face
Maybelline foundation in ivory
Sephora blush in deep red

Hope you had a wonderful day!

DIY - Lip scrub

After all the dry, matte and long staying lip products, our lips ask for the restore of our moisture. Just like we do our skin care, it is necessary for us to even have lip care in our routine. After a search of good products for lips, I came to a conclusion that DIY lip scrub is the best thing you can do for your lips. Its super easy to make and even more easy to use. Before sleeping, I do my little lip care routine and that makes me ready for the next day where I put my usual lipsticks.

To make your lip scrub
You need
~ Vaseline
~ Olive oil
~ Sugar (granulated)
~ Strawberry/cocoa powder/ berries (optional)

Steps
melt some vaseline (either microvawe 7-10 secs or put water in a vessel on stove and melt using a smaller cup placed inside the vessel)
Pour in some olive oil
The ratio of olive oil can be as much as the vaseline
Add in granulated sugar (about twice the vaseline + olive oil content)
Add in a little bit of fresh strawberry juice or cocoa powder to add in some flavour (optional)
Keep it in the fridge until it has set and its ready to use

How to use
Clean your lipstick with a make up remover and wipe it with water
Take appropriate amount of scrub and rub it with your fingers on the lips, You can use a mild brush too. Do this for about 2-4 mins and then wash it.
Apply your favourite lip balm and you are done.

Enjoy!

L'Oreal - Balmain limited edition lipstick - Rebellion (Blue)

L'Oreal along with the popular brand Balmain have come up with limited edition lipsticks in India. Its nice that finally make up brands are launching some exclusive , unique and crazy lipshades. One could only get such shades in Nyx, Inglot, mac and some not so famous companies. Revlon first came up with them, then maybelline and now we have L'Oreal with the limited edition lipsticks.
There are colours ranging in bright and dark purples, deep browns, unique nudes, blues and green. To me, the blue shade caught my attention the most simply because I already have a similar purple from mac (heroine) and also the latest lakme masaba collection purple. While browns and nudes are the usual and green is not really my colour, I went for the blue. Another reason to get this blue is because this can be teamed up with denims.
I remember as a child, while colouring, I always imagined how it would be if my crayons turn into lip shades and thats exactly what loreal has come up with.

So talking about the blue shade, the shade is called Rebellion and is a shade between royal blue and navy. It says it is color riche matte lipstick which is true but it also has a crayon like dry feel so I suggest applying lipbalm before applying. A proper outline is required since the colour is bright and therefore needs the right shape.
The packaging is of 3.9 grams in a fancy blue design. The lipstick looks like a designer piece in itself and stands out especially amongst the dull black and silver lipsticks.
The price is Rs 1050/- which I believe is okay since that is the range of L'Oreal products. Infact i expected it to be much more.
To buy here, Click below...

My take on the product - Buy it only if you want to experiment with colours like blue, green and bright purples or deep purples. Apply light gloss or lipbalm so that the crayon feel goes. I am mentioning this again as the problem that comes is the wrinkles of lips make it look chalky and messy.
Rating - 7/10 (but for the unique shades - 9/10)

For this make up look, I have used the following,
For face
Sephora primer
Maybelline foundation in ivory
Blush - In color baked
Illuminator - Make up revolution in champagne

For eyes
PAC eye shadow kit - Used ochre yellow, gold , royal blue shades
Royal blue eye liner - Meylin
Black eye liner - Maybelline
Mascara - Maybelline
Colosal kajal (maybelline)

For lips
Vaseline and olive oil lip balm (made at home)
Loreal and balmain lipstick in rebellion
Local blue eye pencil as lip liner

Hope you enjoyed the post
Thank you!
